2026/05/22 USD/JPY Trade Strategy

Today's USD/JPY call: Sell.
Both the 4-hour and 1-hour charts should essentially have a bullish bias, but the market has been stalling for a long time and has lost its sense of direction.
On the 15-minute level, price is turning down (making lower highs) from yesterday’s high and has come back into the original range.
For day trading, the view is to sell from around the top of that range.
The idea is to aim for the 4-hour range low.

No trade
After I wrote the scenario, price broke above Line A, but it was borderline.
Measured against the recent high (the upper of the double lines), you can’t really say it broke above.
The round number at the blue line had been holding since yesterday, so my bias was to sell if it broke below there, and to buy if it broke further to the upside.
In the end, price found support at the blue line, and after breaking higher it formed a pullback at the red circle, so I think buying from there would have been fine.
