2026/06/17 USD/JPY Trade Strategy

Today's USD/JPY call: Buy.
Following the flow on the 1-hour chart (H1) would mean buying, but the daily chart is being capped near the highs, and on the 4-hour chart (H4) it’s hard to tell whether it’s a sell or a buy.
The case for buying is thin, so I don’t really feel like trading aggressively.
It might be a good idea to look at other currencies too.
EUR/USD has a clear, easy-to-read chart today.
Review

Price moved up.
In the first half, price broke below the C line, so the plan was to short the retracement.
However, it started turning up (making higher lows) and came back, so I exited. A few pips.
It’s unclear whether price really broke the line here, so this is a spot where you need to be careful not to end up selling at the low.
Even if you held instead of exiting, you’d close out around 1 am JST (16:00 UTC the previous day).
Never holding a position through the FOMC is an iron rule.
