2026/06/05 USD/JPY Trade Strategy

Today's USD/JPY call: Buy.
The flow is to the buy side.
That said, it feels like there’s a wall at 160 yen, so it’s hard to buy.
The 1-hour chart (H1) is ranging down to the pink line below, so Scenario C is a short-term trade targeting the range low.
Even if it breaks above, I think it’ll go up to around the yellow line at most.
Let’s look at the other currencies.
Review

The price rose on the data release.
Early on, the market was as listless as ever, but it broke below Line C, so I went short at circle ①.
However, NFP (nonfarm payrolls) was due at 9:30 pm JST (12:30 UTC), so the plan was to close out before then.
Just as it started falling nicely, it suddenly began to rise, so I exited. About 2–3 pips, so effectively a breakeven exit.
Before data releases like this, the rate often starts moving ahead of time.
