2026/04/14 USD/JPY Trade Strategy

Today's USD/JPY call: Sell.
The daily and 4-hour charts are ranging with no clear direction.
Price has rallied up to here and is now making lower highs, so if anything I’d lean toward selling?
On the day-trading timeframe, price is falling toward Line C around 158.9, the next key level below.
I’d like to short somewhere on a retracement high area.
The area around Line B is a candidate for selling the rally.
I keep a bearish bias until Line A is broken, but if price gets above Line B, the downside momentum may fade.
Review

It was Scenario B.
Price broke above the B line and came back up near the recent high, and from a risk-reward standpoint there’s no reason not to take this entry.
I took profit at the blue line around the 158.7 target, where it looked like a double bottom and printed a long lower wick. 50 pips
If you couldn’t get in at ○1, the play would be a short from around the B line at ○2, on the retracement after the first drop.
In this case, it comes to around 35 pips.
