2026/09/01 USD/JPY Trade Strategy

Today's USD/JPY call: Sell.
The market remains difficult to trade.
Buying and selling are mixing within the current range from Line A to Line C, so right now the two sides are evenly matched around the middle.
Within the range, I think a bias of selling if price rises to around Line A and then turns down (making lower highs), and buying if it turns up (making higher lows) from around Line C, is fine. But this isn’t a market where you can enter and just leave the trade alone, so it’s also fine to wait until price breaks out either up or down before getting involved.
In terms of the chart shape, it’s hard to commit to either a sell or a buy, and the trend line I drew a few days ago is still working.
Review

It was Scenario A.
Price formed a pullback on the 4-hour chart (H4) and then moved higher.
I went long at ○1, the pullback after price broke above Line A.
Price reached the 160.2 target, and I took profit as it started turning down (making lower highs) on the 5-minute chart (M5). 18 pips
This level is the recent high on the 1-hour chart.
